Certified Pistol License Course
This is an 8-hour training course, broken down by the Legal and NRA "Inside the Home Protection" PowerPoint. The range can be up to 1.5 hours outside. This is not a beginner course. Students should have the fundamentals of firearms safety and be able to engage an 8.5 X 11 sheet of paper from 7, 14, and 21 feet. To pass this course, there is a written test and firearms qualification. Students will need their own firearm, a minimum of two magazines, and 50 rounds of ammunition for their firearm. Students may rent a firearm ($10) and either purchase ammunition from us (Market value) or purchase their own. You must make prior arrangements with us.
The firearm recommendation is as follows: working firearm, if you have a red dot, make sure it is working and securely attached. The minimum caliber is .22 LR. We recommend .380, 9 mm, .45, .38 or .357 caliber. You must use range ammunition and no "Magnum". "Range" clothing is also recommended; no open collar, open-toed shoes, and or loose clothing. A baseball hat and eye and ear protection encouraged.

Advanced Pistol Class
- This class is conducted on the range. It is roughly an eight-hour course. We train to standards, not time.
- Students are encouraged to wear clothes based on the weather as this is an outside range.
- This is not a concealed carry course, and all training is done with an outside-the-waistband holster. Students will need a minimum of three magazines and a magazine belt carrier.
- 500 rounds of range ammunition is needed for your working firearm.
- This class teaches drawing, grip, and presentation of the firearm. We work on trigger control and accuracy. Students are taught to engage with multiple targets during certain drills.
- This course ends with the Michigan M.C.O.L.E.S. qualification standards.
- This course is great for Church Security team members and armed security officers.
- The cost for this course is $150 per student.

Meet Your CPL Instructor
Patrick Frederick - Patrick served in the U.S. Army for five years with combat experience. Patrick retired from Law Enforcement after 30 years with assignments including Tactical Team Member and Team Leader, Task Force Officer with the U.S. Marshalls Service and the Drug Enforcement Administration, K-9 Handler, Detective, and School Resource Officer. Patrick taught as an adjunct instructor at the South Florida Community College Police Academy. Patrick is a certified NRA Instructor in several disciplines and a NRA Counselor. Patrick has over 10 years of combined experience teaching law enforcement and civilian firearms classes, including Basic Firearms, CPL, Advanced Pistol, and other tactical training.
